STEP 4: GO FOR THE JOB

Approach your job search like
a professional.

Searching for a job takes a high degree of strategy, organization, persistence, open-mindedness and attention to detail. These are the type of management skills that are important to employers, so it's important to demonstrate in your job search a high degree of professionalism.

The career experts at the MBA Career Management Center have already done a lot of the legwork for you as far as pulling together information on resumes, cover letters, thank you notes, and salary and benefit negotiation. We've read dozens of career and job search books, interviewed top-level corporate recruiters, and gathered tips from DePaul graduate students who've successfully landed new positions to learn what worked for them.

This section is an edited, easy-to-use online assembly of our research and knowledge. We encourage you to refer back to these pages whenever you have questions during your job search. In addition, we are available by appointment throughout the day, even early morning, to meet and advise you on any aspect of your search.
